The PINK Charity Softball Tournament raises funds to strike out breast cancer

Fourteen teams stepped up to the plate from July 7–9, 2023 to play softball for a good cause.

This annual event by Dorval-based cancer awareness and fundraising group The PINK raised $67,500, which has been donated to the MUHC Foundation in support of the MUHC’s Breast Clinic Wellness Program. Program founder and director Dr. Sarkis Meterissian was there to throw the opening pitch and cheer on the teams.

The MUHC Foundation was proud to take part in the tournament with their team, The Noobies. The team was made up of MUHC Foundation staff from across all departments, from finance to communications. What they lacked in softball talent they made up for in enthusiasm, bringing high energy and plenty of smiles to the baseball diamond.

The MUHC’s Breast Clinic Wellness Program was created to ensure every breast cancer patient receives the care they need—during and after treatment—to return to happy, healthy lives. The Wellness Program is completely donor funded and offers a variety of free resources including access to counselling, kinesiologists, nutritionists, sex therapists and more.

Thank you to everyone who came out to play, watched in the stands and donated!
